Sony has announced an impressive milestone for Naughty Dog's Uncharted series. The PlayStation 3 exclusive franchise has surpassed 17 million copies sold since 2007's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Sony provided an exact figure of "over 17,320,000" as of April 12th, 2012. The series' inception occurred back in 2007 during the PS3's infancy with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Following that two years later was the universally acclaimed Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The most recent main installment, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, released during November, 2011. PlayStation Vita's Golden Abyss, a spin-off of the IP, launched alongside the Vita in February.

During the October of 2011, a  http://www.jp.playstation.com/info/release/nr_20111004_uncharted3.html - press release by SCEJ confirmed the franchise accumulated eight million sales with the first two installments. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves claimed 4.9 million units from that figure.

Following Uncharted 3's release, meanwhile, Sony http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Uncharted-3-Sells-3-8-Million-Copies-One-Day-36895.html - confirmed it sold 3.8 million units on launch day which was http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Uncharted-Series-Sells-13-Million-Copies-37522.html - followed by a 13 million copies sold figure  for the franchise.

Elsewhere, Sony announced the http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Uncharted-3-Game-Year-Edition-Outed-By-Retailer-41673.html - recently outed GOTY edition of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. The special edition, which remains undated, will bundle all of the previously released downloadable content packs. These are:
  • Classic Skins Packs 1 - 3: A huge total of 25 skins for the Uncharted 3 multiplayer experience including fan favourites such as Nathan Drake as he appears in the original Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, or Winter Drake as he appears in Tibet during Uncharted 2: Among Thieves; even minor characters such as Cameraman Jeff make an appearance.
  • Multiplayer Accessory Pack: Allows players to play skinned as a Capture Trooper from another PS3 exclusive, Killzone 3. Also includes the ISA and Helghast helmets accessories.
  • Flashback Map Packs 1 and 2: Includes eight maps that bring reworked, dynamically improved environments from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves into the multiplayer of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
  • Drake's Deception Map Pack: Four new multiplayer maps - The Graveyard, Old Quarter, London Streets, and Oasis - each incorporating its own dynamic events.
  • Fort Co-Op Adventure: Additional content for the co-op adventure online game mode, Fort takes players on a journey through the fortress first seen in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to seek out Nathan Drake.
  • Co-Op Shade Survival: Take on wave after wave of some of the toughest enemies from the Uncharted series, the fiery Djinn. This co-op game mode provides a good multiplayer challenge that rewards quite handsomely.
  • Doughnut Skin Pack: If you've ever wondered what Sully would look like if he really let himself go, this is the skin pack for you. Five characters from the franchise are depicted in larger-than-life form.
  • Rogues Skin Pack 1 and 2: Tired of playing as Nate? Unnamed henchmen and hired goons more your thing? This is what you've been waiting for. Play as 14 minor antagonists from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

Det er sku' flot klaret! Specielt taget i betragtning af at langt de fleste salg kommer fra PS3-versionerne (jeg nægte at tro på at PS Vita-versionen har solgt det helt store). Naughty Dog er nogle glimrende udviklere og jeg håber at The Last of Us vil blive et lige så stort hit.

Har man endnu ikke købt Uncharted 3, kan det jo være ideelt at vente til Game of the Year udgaven kommer.Tongue

Hov, bare lige så der ikke er forvirring er der naturligvis tale om hele serien og ikke kun at det er ét at spillene, der har solgt 17 mio :)
